Macchiato recipe iced12/3/2023 ![]() Top with another drizzle of apple crisp syrup.As this coffee recipe doesn’t require a ton of ingredients, it’s a very straightforward way to make coffee at home. TIP: to get a layered effect for the iced macchiato, pour the espresso slowly onto one of the ice cubes vs. This drink is made by mixing espresso, milk, and ice.Now for the best part, the icing on the cake as they say. Add your coconut milk until the glass is full. ![]() If you want extra coffee flavor, you can opt for a double shot. Pour a shot of espresso over the ice and chocolate, this adds a nice bold flavor of coffee. Whisk together 1 double shot of freshly brewed blonde espresso and 1-2 tablespoons of the spiced apple crisp syrup. Drizzle chocolate sauce into the glass and over the ice.For an Iced Macchiato: add a handful of ice cubes (or use oat milk ice cubes to prevent the macchiato from watering down).Pour the amount of oat milk you prefer into the glass or mug (about 6-8 oz, or 2/3 of the way full).For a Hot Macchiato: heat the oat milk in the microwave or with a milk steamer.Drizzle 1-2 tbsp of the apple crisp syrup on the sides and bottom of a glass or mug.To Make the Apple Crisp Oat Milk Macchiato: Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.The syrup will continue to thicken as it cools. Remove from the heat and add the vanilla extract.Once simmering, cook on low heat for 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Brew a pod over the ice using the smallest size setting into the plastic tumbler. In a small saucepan, whisk together the brown sugar, apple juice or concentrate, cinnamon sticks, and pinch of salt. Add in desired amount of sweetener and place under the coffee maker.▻ I also recommend using coffee ice cubes in the macchiato to help enhance the coffee flavor. ▻ If using bold coffee, I recommend stirring in 1 tsp of instant espresso per serving to help it have a stronger flavor. Strongly Brewed Coffee: you can use bold coffee instead of espresso, however, please note that the macchiato won’t taste as similar to Starbucks’ version.The drink won’t be quite as creamy but it will still be delicious! Almond Milk: sub in almond milk for oat milk.Apple Pie Spice: use a teaspoon of apple pie spice instead of the cinnamon sticks or ground cinnamon for even more spiced flavor.▻ Note: the syrup will have granules of spice in it so it won’t be as smooth to drink. Ground Cinnamon: you can sub in 1 tsp of ground cinnamon for the cinnamon sticks.Extract your Espresso Caramel or Espresso Vanilla coffee on top. ▻ Note: the apple flavor won’t be as concentrated or bold if using normal apple juice. Add 3 ice cubes to your glass or 90g of ice cubes. Use a milk frother, French press or whisk to froth the milk. 150 degrees Fahrenheit is perfect: that’s where the milk is hot to the touch but not yet simmering. Normal Apple Juice: if you can’t find apple juice concentrate in the frozen section of your grocery store, you can substitute normal apple juice in the apple syrup. Heat the milk on the stovetop before frothing (or steam the milk with the espresso machine).
